The end of the arena battle draws near, as the final gladiator faces up against a looming warforged juggernaut, somehow standing her ground. But the juggernaut was not the only monster in the arena that day...
For my Traditional and Digital Illustration class final I had to make a two-page spread illustration that could fit within a larger story, as well as a character concept sheet to go alongside it. For the assignment I chose a scene from the first session of a friend's homebrew DnD 5e campaign at the time, depicting the final stand of the last gladiator that stood against us in the encounter, moments before being horribly killed by one of the other players. That other player was of course playing as the monster grabbing the gladiator from behind, which was actually a sentient colony of three mimics named H.A.M. It was a very strange adventuring party. I was the one playing as S.O.U:P, an ancient warforged juggernaut with core malfunctions that lead to wild magic surges, and the subject of the character concept sheet part of the assignment.
