"Intimate Detail," Traditional and Digital Illustration project, February 2023

In a Traditional and Digital Illustration class we were assigned to make an ink and inkwash illustration based on a poem, so I chose to draw a bee sleeping in a flower held by two hands in reference to the poem "Intimate Detail" by Heid E. Erdrich. The poem can be found here: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/53933/intimate-detail

The original drawing was finished in September 2022. I then later revisited the piece in February 2023 and edited it digitally in Krita to add a little bit more shading, after I had been brought into Krita by that same class.

This piece was then submitted and featured in The Inaugural Macalester 11x17 Student Art Exhibit, located in a room of the DeWitt Wallace Library, from March 2023 to February 2024! Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of it before it was returned to me, oops.
